Color therapy has been used for years and is proven to alter moods, improve anxiety, and promote sleep and relaxation. Thanks to Australia we now know the world’s ugliest color.
In 2012, the Australian government hired research company GfK to redesign cigarette packing to discourage people from smoking. The company determined the ugliest color, and they have designated “Opaque Couché,” a brownish-green color as the most visually offensive.
Now, the government down under is now requiring all smoking packaging and materials to be sold in this poop-like color in the hopes that the unappealing shade will make people less likely to buy cigarettes.
Due to the research, it looks like France, the UK, and Ireland all have plans of adopting the color for all smoking packaging materials in their countries as well.
