It will take 18 months, but the Grand Rapids Public Museum will redesign and expand its exhibit on the Anishinaabe people of Michigan.

Exhibit curator Katrina Furman is a member of the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa. She says the exhibit will have tech upgrades with a new vision.

The current exhibit will close in January for the upgrade.

Furman says there will be great tech upgrades while they want to represent the past, present and future of the state’s Native Americans.
