Once again, a city in west Michigan has been nominated as the Best Historic Small Town in a USA Today’s 10 Best reader’s poll.

Ludington along Lake Michigan won this honor last year and is nominated again this year. Executive Director of the Ludington Area Visitors Bureau, Brandy Miller, says they have many historic attractions.

We are home to the last coal-fired steamship in the U.S., the SS Badger, which travels daily in the warm weather months between Ludington and Manitowoc, Wisconsin,” Miller said. “And that’s actually a National Historic Landmark and one of the few that actually moves, which is unique. We also have two historic lighthouses that are more than 100 years old.”

Miller says they also have historic White Pine Village, a beach and a downtown with boutiques and great restaurants.
