The results are in from last week’s statewide crackdown on dangerous driving on I-94.

Michigan State Police say nearly 500 traffic stops were made from Southwest Michigan all the way up to Port Huron. Half those stops resulted in a ticket, while 34 arrests were made.

The top reason drivers were stopped was speed, followed by illegally tinted windows, cell phone use, expired registration, and failure to yield to emergency vehicles.

The Lake to Lake Focused and Safe initiative targeted distracted and aggressive driving with the goal of preventing crashes. Michigan State Police Posts in Niles, Paw Paw, Jackson, Metro South, Brighton, and Lapeer participated. So did MDOT.
