A familiar name is jumping into the race for U.S. Senate in Michigan.
Former Congressman Mike Rogers is making another attempt now that Gary Peters will leave his seat. The Republican Rogers narrowly lost in the 2024 Senate race to Democrat Elissa Slotkin.
Rogers made his announcement on social media.
“As your next senator, I won’t just represent Michigan, I’ll fight for it,” Rogers said. “I’ll stand with President Trump, and we will deliver on the mandate given to him by the American people.”
Rogers also pledges to protect Social Security. Democrat Mallory McMurrow, a state senator, is also running.
