Congress is going to have to set aside partisan differences in order to help the nation through the COVID-19 crisis. That’s the message Congressman Fred Upton had for colleagues during a virtual House session this week. He said his Problem Solvers Caucus is calling for aid to states that have been hit hard by COVID-19.
“I was pleased to hear in our discussion yesterday with the speaker, Speaker Pelosi, that she is in fact committed to working on a package to work with our state and local governments because we know and she said they have increased outlays because of COVID, and the y have decreased revenues.”
Upton said the Problem Solvers Caucus has been speaking with governors throughout the pandemic, and members know the struggles states are facing. They believe the states will need major help with funding.
